Thirty years ago, I planted Eucalyptus macrocarpa at Binginbar. Every winter, the silver foliage and spectacular crimson flowers remind me why it remains one of my favourite Australian natives. Known as the Rose of the West, its beauty inspired this painting. What began as a garden planting became an enduring source of artistic inspiration.
