Harvesting the Last Light
Inspired by a photograph I took on our family farm last year, Harvesting the Last Light captures two headers working across the paddocks as day gives way to dusk.
The fiery sky and fading light reflect the intensity of Australian harvest, when long days, hard work and the uncertainty of the seasons come together. Having spent my life on the land, I understand the significance of these moments — the determination to bring in the crop while the light remains, and the satisfaction of seeing the day's work unfold beneath an expansive Australian sky.
This painting is a tribute to farming life, the people who work the land, and the extraordinary beauty that can be found at the end of a long day.
